Josephine Myrtle Davis was born in Mission, Texas on May 27, 1936, and passed away in Tyler, Texas September 19, 2021. She is preceded in death by her father Victor Burger, mother Josafina Chapa, and her only brother, Victor Burger.
Josie met and married Joe Davis in 1993 in Rockport, Texas where they lived until 1998. She loved to fish and spend time at their Rockport home. She enjoyed traveling with Joe across the United States in their RV. In 1998 they settled down and moved to Marble Falls, Texas and built their home. She was also an avid reader and loved a good book or magazine. While living there, she was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church and the Marble Falls Senior Center. After the passing of her beloved Joe in 2014, she moved to Alvin, Texas to be closer to her son Matthew. She lived in Alvin for 7 years before Matthew moved her to Tyler, Texas to be closer to him in July 2021.
She is survived by her sons Clarence Ted Symank and wife Marlene of Waco, Texas, Matthew Joseph Symank and wife Jean of Tyler, Texas, and numerous family members in South Texas.
Graveside services will be held at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet, Texas on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 12:00 p.m.
