Merrell Maxwell Ingram, 52, of Baton Rouge, passed away at her home on September 23, 2021. She was born to the late Judge Michael Sedgwick and Susan Woodyear Ingram on June 25, 1969 in Baton Rouge. Merrell graduated from St. Frederick High School in Monroe, received a BA in English from LSU, and her Paralegal Certification in Atlanta, Georgia.
Merrell is survived by her siblings, Richard Scott Ingram (Monica) and Sharon Woodyear Ingram Marchman (David); sisters-in-law, Madelyn Caldwell (Randy), Beth Ingram, Catherine Marchman and Marianna Marchman; niece, Mary Elizabeth Ingram (fiancé Patrick Schmidt); nephews, Zachary Pate Ingram, Michael Capshaw Marchman and David Lee Marchman; her beloved Boykin Spaniel, Matilda; and numerous cousins, friends and adopted nieces and nephews.
Merrell was a paralegal at Kean Miller Law Firm, her second family, for 28 years. She lived her life well, always serving others. She never met a stranger and always managed to find a connection with them. She opened her heart and home to all, always exhibiting her innate Southern and Christian hospitality. Merrell loved her family and friends fiercely and protected them with all her might. Although she had no children of her own, many knew her affectionately as Auntie Merrell and, without even realizing, she impacted their lives in so many positive ways. She was the best daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
