Clay was born in Idabel, Ok to Paulette Morman and Archie Burks on April 3, 1963. He went to school at Gilmore High School and worked as a mechanic at Red River Army Depot for the past 11 years. Clay married Hope Guzman on October 7, 2001 and lived a happy wonder life enjoying their friends and family.
Clay was a happy man. He was a joker at work and loved boating at his happy place Lake DeGray where he spent time with his wife and their lake family every weekend. He loved restoring antique cars and attending antique car shows. He loved all his friends and family and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to everyone and anyone. His heart and love were so big he never hesitated to rescue all animals in need. He even had room for a love of landscaping, a hobby he enjoyed with Hope. Through the years, Clay had a passion for softball and was famous for knocking them out of the park. He especially loved bringing his son, Michael Shane to all of his games. They both shared the love of the game.
Clay is survived by his wife, Hope Burks; son, Michael Burks; parents, Tim and Paulette Morman; brother and sister-in-law, James and Kim Burks; mother and father-in-law, Juanita Birdwell and Pedro Guzman; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rose and Tom Swindla; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jon and Connie Guzman; brother-in-law, Jeff Brumbaugh; daughter, Brittany Burks; step-son, Hunter Reck and his wife Krista Reck and step-daughter, Summer Stigaullde; and 8 grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
