Arthur Joseph Carter, 68, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away on October 2nd, 2021, after a short battle with cancer. He was born December 18, 1952, to the late James and Catherine Carter(Juran) in Lackawanna, NY. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1971. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked several jobs, but his main passion was volunteering. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in New York and was the Chairman of the Charity Committee supporting the Skating Association for the Blind and Handicap, St. Stephen's Scholarship Fund , and the Neighbor's Foundation. He also assisted the cub scouts, the school city interchange program, and served in many food pantries. His last job was a Service Officer for American Legion Post 209 in Colorado Springs helping the homeless and vets in need.
He and his wife loved traveling especially doing road trips and managed to visit 47 states. They also enjoyed bowling and were on many leagues, the latest being the Senior Bowling League in Colorado Springs. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna(Willis) of 46 and a half years, their devoted daughter Karen West, their adventurous grandson Codie West, and their sweetest granddaughter, Alyssa West.
He is also survived by his sisters; Sister Marie de Paul, Elizabeth(Robert) Metros, and Jeanne (Joe) Ramirez, and his brother, Joseph Carter. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Ann Perencevich, his bother James Carter, his sister in laws, Elizabeth Carter and Robin Carter, his Father and Mother in laws, George and Barbara (Madden) Willis, and a special niece Kimberly Bartlett. He is also survived by several Sisters and Brothers in laws, many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
