Victor Del Coto passed away on October 1, 2021 in San Rafael, California at the age of 89 after a brief illness. Victor was born in Northern Spain on August 30th 1932. He and his wife Ofelia emigrated from Spain to the United States together. They were married in Miami, Florida and enjoyed over 55 years of marriage. They were very honored and proud to have become United States Citizens in the early 2000’s. Victor was an avid collector. He was an amateur numismatist, art afficionado and had an eye for the extraordinary. He was a member of the Bakery and Confectioners’ Union and worked for 23 years at See’s Candies in South San Francisco as a candy maker. He maintained many friendships from that time. He was also a member of the Union Espanola of California since 1984. Victor was known by many shop owners and locals in the Outer Mission in San Francisco where he lived. He befriended many people on his daily walks.
Victor is preceded in death by his wife, Ofelia Del Coto, (2018). He is survived by his daughter, Margarita (Margaret) Del Coto and grandson, Arian Barzegar. He is also survived by extended family in Spain, including nephews Victor Manuel of Madrid and Victor of Asturias. A family memorial of Victor's life will take place at a future date.
