Lupe R. Garcia, of Hanford, passed on October 3, 2021, at the age of 77. His battle with serious medical issues this past year reflected his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the anguish, Lupe came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
Lupe was truly a man with a lifelong love of laughter. Whether working, home relaxing, or lying sick in a hospital bed, he never passed on an opportunity to crack a joke and make everyone listening, break out in laughter. Storytelling was Lupe’s forte, and he was a master at it.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Lupe. He enjoyed fishing with family and friends. Relaxation always included watching his favorite football team, the Raiders, or catching up on his prized novelas. Lupe loved music and dancing, and could often be found having a beer and cutting up the dance floor at various dance halls. However, his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Lupe is survived by his devoted wife Marina; beloved children Christine, Monica and Carlos; his step-children Oscar, Liliana and Ulysses; his adored fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and loving brothers and sisters, Robert Garcia, Mike Garcia, Chila Regalado, Nellie Cedillos, Nena Navarro, and Loli Carrasco. He will forever be remembered and missed by his many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, as well as cousins and friends whose lives he touched with his wit and charm.
