Roberto was born to Margarito and Alberta Garcia. He was the second youngest of 6 kids. Born and raised in San Jose, CA, he graduated from James Lick High School. After graduating in 1969, he was drafted into the Army. After serving two years in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged from the service in 1975.
Roberto married Patricia in 1983. Finding a forever home in Santa Clara, he became a devoted father of two girls. He would take the family to many Oakland A's games, yearly camping trips, and was always there for his family. He had a talent when it came to the barbecue. He offered up his skill for Friday night football games for Wilcox High School and CCS Wrestling Championships. He worked for Orchard Supply Hardware for 28 years before he retired in 2014. He also had his own landscaping business. Roberto lived in Santa Clara until 2017. Although the adjustment was hard, Roberto moved to Lincoln, CA with his daughters.
Roberto is survived by his daughter Stephanie (son-in-law Geoffrey), daughter Marlene, and Victoria who he called his adopted daughter (son-in-law Daniel.) A grandpa to 8 grandchildren. A brother to Maria, Peter (2020), Gloria (2001), Esther, and John. A brother-in-law to John, Terry, Dora, Benny, and Chao. A loving, wonderful uncle and a great-uncle to many.
Services for Roberto will be held on Nov. 5th, 11 AM at Lincoln Funeral Home 406 H St, Lincoln, CA 95648.
