Elva L. Arellano passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the age of 76. Born on February 2, 1945, she is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Agripina Valdez Luna; her daughter, Sonia; her brothers, Frank and Daniel; and her beloved dog, Bell.
After owning 2 restaurants the dedicated mother of 3 and grandmother to 1, Elva retired as a civil service employee from Kelly/Randolph AFB. During her retirement Elva loved vacationing in Rockport Texas with her family. She had a passion for serving at Prince of Peace as a Eucharistic Minister for many decades and attended several Act Retreats. Elva enjoyed dancing, going out to eat, shopping and was an avid novella watcher. Family and friends were everything to her.
Elva will be remembered as a loving, devoted, God serving woman who put everyone’s needs before hers. Her love for her catholic faith is played throughout her home and you could always count on her to pray for others! Her sparkle in this life leaves a hole in our hearts, but her everlasting memory will be cherished forever.
Elva is survived by her husband, Felix; her children, Lydia and Ruben (Melissa); her grandchildren, Gabrielle (Miguel) and Mia; her brother, Arturo “Tudy” (MaryAlice); her sister-in-law, Josie; her dog, Nala; and her extended family and friends who loved her and will miss her greatly.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, October 21 at 9:00 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church – 7893 Grissom Road 78251 – with the Rosary will be recited 9:30 AM and the Funeral Mass to 10:00 AM. The burial will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II – 746 Castroville Road 78237.
