Gary was very active in the Boulder City community, volunteering as much time as he could to the Boulder City Police Department for the past few years. Before that, he worked for the National Park Service as a 911 Dispatch operator. He loved to serve the community and help others in any way that he could. Gary was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, where he lived until he met the love of his life, Sharon Berger (nee Goldfarb). Once he learned that year round warmth was a real thing, they moved to southern California until 1989, when they moved to Boulder City, residing in the same house ever since. Although he came across harsh and gruff at times, he would give you the shirt off his back and bend over backwards to help anyone he could. He was a great man to those that knew and loved him. If you didn't love him it was simply because you didn't know him well enough. Gary is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Melissa Leon (Aaron), and Joseph “Joe” Berger. Services will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 E Eldorado Ln, Las Vegas, NV 89120. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
