Garry Lamar Hartman, 76, passed away on October 9, 2021. He was born in Cherryville, NC on March 11, 1945, to the late James P. and Gladys B. Hartman. He married Pamela DeLuca on August 21, 1965, in Charlotte, NC.
Garry retired after 25 years of service from the Hobart Corp. as an expert service technician. Prior to Hobart, Garry worked for City Chevrolet as an auto mechanic, off-set printer for Jordan Business Forms and The Dowd Press. He was gifted with a God given ability to repair almost anything mechanical or electrical. We all have fond memories of his wonderful smile and infectious laugh. We enjoyed listening to his stories of boyhood adventures with his best buddies Ralph and James. He was our “Go To” guy for any school science projects.
Garry leaves behind his wife, Pam; daughter, Lisa H. Gavel (Kirk); granddaughters, Michelle M. Gavel and Second Lieutenant Megan A. Gavel, USMC; his brother, Ronnie W. Hartman (Gail), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins along with his Aunt Daunita and Aunt Nelda of Shelby, NC.
A visitation for Garry will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, North Carolina 28208. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 12:15 PM at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
