Lois Johnson Byrd, 96, of Olive Branch, Mississippi went home to the Lord on Sunday October 10, 2021. She was born in Wynne, Arkansas July 8, 1925. Lois was preceded in death by husband Robert Ray Byrd; her parents Orlando and Annie Goade Johnson; her brother Maurice Johnson.
Lois is survived by three sons and their wives, Robert Ray Byrd Jr. (Susie) of Lebanon, Tennessee, David Michael Byrd (Rhonda) of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Mark Johnson Byrd (Sharon) of Shelbyville, Tennessee and six grandchildren; Martha Michelle Byrd, Leslie Renee Byrd, Jenifer Ann Byrd, Joshua Johnson Byrd (Ashley), Rachel Lee Scholes, and Clayton Michael Byrd (Chelsea) and four great grandchildren; Emma Lynn Byrd, Harper Elizabeth Byrd, Claire Adelyn Scholes, and Rory Robert Byrd.
Lois Byrd was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. Lois and Robert joined First Church of the Nazarene in 1945. Lois was active in her church and enjoyed working with youth groups and in later years served as a greeter for church services. Lois will be forever remembered by her family and friends for an unwavering devotion to her faith and her way of encouraging others with a smile and kind words. She always shared special compliments and kind words that inspired happiness, optimism, and friendship.
Mother (NanNan) will be missed dearly, but we are rejoicing with knowing that Mother and Dad are reunited forever in Heaven. They enjoyed 77 years of marriage and will now be together forever more. Until we meet again.
