It is with great sorrow to announce that Martha Jones Anderson “Bebe” passed away August 30, 2021 at 93. Bebe was a native Houstonian, born November 2, 1927. She graduated from Reagan High School,1945, earned a BS from the University of Houston, and retired from Jefferson Chemical in after a long career in the chemical business.
She is preceded in death by loving husband, James Howard Anderson, her mother, Pauline Pozyczka Jones, father John Edward Jones, and only brother Robert Lawrence Jones Sr.. She is survived by the children of her only brother, nieces, and nephews: Larry Jones, Cindy Jones Martin, Christopher Jones, and Julie Jones (godchild), as well as numerous first cousins and great nephews and nieces.
Bebe was a loving wife, daughter, sister, friend, aunt, and servant of the Lord. Her and husband, the love of her life, Jimmy, traveled the world with friends and on missions. They were devout Catholics, loved the Lord, and attended daily mass. She volunteered and helped organize annual fundraisers for the Holy Rosary Dominican Friars. Bebe wholeheartedly served at The Charity Guild of Catholic Women, Houston. She and her husband were active in the membership of the Serra Club of Houston promoting vocations in the Catholic faith and volunteered with many other ministries throughout the years. Bebe believed to be able to give of time and talents is a blessing. They were knighted as members of the Holy Sepulcher by the bishop.
Bebe loved children, especially her nieces and nephews and god children. She, and her mother enjoyed sewing and embroidered beautiful holiday, and Sunday best outfits for all of them. Bebe loved “all things beautiful” including artwork, literature, silver, fine china, jewelry, and the arts. She loved serving and finding a treasure at the Charity Guild. She also loved sitting down with friends and family to share a well-prepared meal.
Bebe enjoyed sharing stories about our family, reading poetry, and classical music. Her laugh was contagious and attitude uplifting.
Bebe has joined her husband Jimmy in eternal light. May she rest in the peace of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
