Celine is preceded in death by her husband Christian and sister, Anne. She is survived by her three children Elizabeth, Maria, and Lisa, her four grandchildren Alexia, Kimberlie, Omar and Natasha and her two sisters Hernite and Josephine.
Celine may have had only three children, but she was a much beloved mother to all that came in contact with her. She was a strong, kindhearted woman who welcomed all to her home. Possessing a warm and nurturing nature, she often babysat her only niece; Linda, her children’s friend’s kids/family whenever they needed. On any given day, she preferred to be home as her passions revolved around her family and food. She could often be found in her kitchen, where she took great pleasure in showing her children and grandkids, especially her youngest Nana, how to make her delicious Haitian dishes.
She was very sassy and sharp with her responses and didn’t hesitate to tell you like it is, but her witty responses always came from a place of love. She encouraged her family to strive for better and always helped where she could. Being orphaned at an early age and having to be like a mother to her sisters taught her many life lessons and inspired her bravery and work ethic. This was quite evident as she was the first to travel to the US, laying the foundation and initiating the necessary steps in moving and reuniting her entire family to the US. Together, with her loving husband Christian, she passed on her strong values to their daughters, inspiring and instilling the importance of education and hard work in them, a practice that carried on and can be seen and felt daily in the successes of her grandchildren, of which she was very proud. Through her family and through the memories she helped make for those she nurtured, her presence lives on, and will never fade from the lives of those who knew her.
