He was born in Lexington, SC on April 1, 1931. He was the son of the late Clinton Leroy and Sarah Seay Monts.
Willie served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, retired from Kline Iron & Steel after 47 years and went on to work for S.C. Vocational Rehabilitation for 12 years retiring a second time at the age of 80. He was a member of South Lexington Baptist Church, Lexington Masonic Lodge #152 for over 40 years, and The Wildlife Club of Lexington. Willie enjoyed helping others by being a handyman and enjoying fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Brenda; step-children, Moncrief Williams (Deborah) of Tennessee, Teresa Williams of West Columbia, SC, Audie Williams of Gaston, SC, and Jody Williams (Dean) of Charlotte, NC; sister, Loretta Rittenhour of Lexington, SC; brother, Thomas Monts (Sandy) of Greer, SC; grandchildren, Hunter, Caleb, and Preston who held a special place in his heart.
Willie is predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Dooley and brothers, Greg, Homer, and Jesse Monts.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072 with interment to follow at Woodridge Cemetery, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Visitation will be one hour before the service at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to South Lexington Baptist Church.
