Frank G. Licata, age 75, of St. Clair Shores passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens. He was born on April 20, 1946 in Buffalo, New York to Charles J. and Wanda (Chmura) Licata.
Frank enlisted in the Marine Corps July 6th 1965 and dutifully served his country with honor in the Vietnam War. He returned home from active duty in 1969 to start his career at Chrysler and retired after 33 years of service.
Frank always said that his life truly didn’t begin until he met the love of his life, Sandy. Frank and his wife were dedicated fans of Detroit sports; with their most revered teams being the Tigers, the Red Wings, and the Lions. Frank had season tickets to the Lions games and always looked forward to Sundays downtown with his children.
Frank always enjoyed a game of chance whether it be at one of the area casinos, or playing games while sharing memories with family up north.
He is survived by his six children, Matthew Licata (Kristen), Jason Witulski, Nicholas Dziurda (Robert), Melissa Brown (Andrew), Heather and Holly Licata; his seven grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, Grantham, Ayden, Jack, Lauren and Travis; and his one brother, John Licata (Judy). He is also survived by numerous extended family and close friends.
Aside from his loving parents, Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra Licata, who passed in June of 2016.
Visitation will be on Tuesday November 23rd at 2 PM until 8:30 PM with a Scripture Service at 6:30 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.
Frank will lie in state at 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral Mass at 10 AM on Wednesday November 24th at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack Ave, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080.
