Kimberly “Kim” Joi Johanson passed unexpectedly, in her home in NE Portland, at the age of 47.
Kim was born on May 3rd, 1974 at Emmanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon and raised in Aloha/Beaverton by parents Andrea and Marc Johanson, of Beaverton.
Kim was truly born with the gift of kindness, creativity and sincerity. She was a strong believer in helping her fellow human beings. She was a hard worker and loved attention to detail in whatever she was involved with. She was always willing to give to others in need, including times when she was struggling herself. She would give the shirt off her back, if necessary, to help another.
Graduated from Aloha High School in 1993, Kim went on to study at Portland Community College, before finding a rewarding career in retail and property management; then enlisting in the United States Army in 2002, serving until 2003 with an Honorable discharge due to a major injury, while serving.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, and many friends, participating in leisurely activities. She was involved with her local community and enjoyed participating in activities with fellow tribal members of the Siletz tribe and visiting with her neighbors.
Kim was a passionate and good-natured human being with kindness in her heart. She loved to laugh and help create laughter. She will truly be missed.
She is survived by her Mother, Andrea and two brothers, Michael and Andrew, Beaverton, OR a niece, nephew, in-laws, cousins, uncles, and aunts, of the greater Portland metro area.
She is preceded in death by her late father Marc Johanson, Grandmothers Victorine Harrison and Marilyn Day, of Portland, OR.
