Ron is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Helen Lehneman Jackman, a son Gregory Jackman and wife Krista of Eliot, Maine, and a daughter Jennifer Brocklehurst and husband Scot of Milford, New Hampshire; four grandchildren Sydney Jackman, Holden Jackman, Ethan Brocklehurst, and Emma Brocklehurst; two sisters, Madonna Jackman and Sherrie Jackman, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and a brother, Kerry Jackman of Laconia, New Hampshire. Ron was predeceased by his parents Richard Jackman and Rita Landroche Jackman.
Ron was a graduate of Ashland High School, Ashland, New Hampshire, where he was a star basketball and baseball player. From 1961 to 1965 he served in the U.S. Air Force, where he received training in Radar and Electronics Systems. In 1967 Ron graduated from New Hampshire Technical Institute, Concord, New Hampshire with an associates degree in Electrical Engineering and subsequently graduated with a BS degree in Industrial Technology from Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts in 1973.
Ron had forty years of experience in diverse telecommunication management and sales management experience. For several years he accumulated 100,000 air travel miles a year which afforded his wife and family many wonderful vacations.
Ron was an avid sportsman. He loved to hunt and fish. Since moving to Florida in 2018, he enjoyed year-round golf, tennis, bocce, biking, pool exercises, and working out in the gym. He joined the Freedom Boat Club and enjoyed many boating excursions. He took up wood carving and painting of decoy ducks and loons. He loved watching all sports on television. He was a huge New England Patriots fan but learned that wearing his Patriots garb in Florida was not always appreciated. After his move to Florida Ron told everyone that the best day of his life was when he sold his snow blower.
Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He especially enjoyed being a grandfather. It allowed him to be uncharacteristically silly and goofy. His grandchildren will always remember his Chewbacca mask antics and the hilarity it created.
A private ceremony will be held in New Hampshire in the summer of 2022.
Donations in his memory may be sent to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 5090 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981
