Bessie Olia Hooper

Bessie Olia Hooper, 83, of Ragley, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. She was born to her late parents, Toney and Bessie Jeanette Nix on February 5, 1938 in Lake Charles. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and being the life of the party. She always made people laugh. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, June Hooper (Fritz Hoeger) of Ragley, Mary Anne Fontenot of Ragley; six grandchildren, Brady Reeves, Bobby Reeves, Charles Fontenot, Rocky Fontenot, Joshua Hooper, Shaunda Hooper; along with 14 great grandchildren.

Bessie is preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; one daughter, Debbie Jeanette Phillips; one son, T.L. Bartley; four brothers, Donald Nix, Kermit Nix, Belton Nix, Neil Nix; two sisters, Shirley June Mims and Novie Melancon.

Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff on Friday, November 26, 2021, from 11:00am until 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.
