Armand Jackson was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 26, 1942 to Arnold Jackson, Sr. and Dorothy Vance. He was the third youngest of eight children. He accepted Christ at an early age, and performed services as an altar boy while attending school at Boys Town in Omaha, NE. Later, he would make Chicago, Illinois his hometown. It was in Chicago that he met and married the love of his life, Yvette Cecelia, on New Year's Eve (December 31st) and they were married until his passing.
Armand had a larger-than-life personality and lived life on his terms. His resilience and grit served him well throughout his remarkable life. He had a fantastic sense of humor, a strong work ethic, and was devoted to his family. He was well respected and loved among his family, friends and peers.
He was a dedicated alumnus of Boys Town, where he gained a passion for cooking, country music and cowboy living, and faithfully attended his reunion every two years. Later in Vegas he enjoyed weekly bowling with his family team, and Sunday dinners at the home of his sister-in-law, Camelia.
After Armand retired from Carpentry and Masonry, he became a full-time caregiver to his wife, Yvette, and daughter, Claudine, caring for them and making sure they were well taken care of. His true passion was giving of his time and expertise, and taking care of those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Sr. and Dorothy; siblings Arnold Jr., Dorothy, and Aaron.
Cherishing his memories are his loving wife, Yvette; his children, Edwin (Raquel), Danielle (Corey), Yvette Claudine, and Gabrielle; grandchildren Nicholas, Alexis, Angelique, Sydney, Jackson, Samantha; and great-grandson Nassor. His siblings, Addie, Emmanuel, Xavier, and Mildred; his sisters-in-laws and brother-in-laws; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of cousins and family friends.
Armand will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
