Bill Austin entered the presence of Christ on Sunday, November 21. Bill was born in Holden, Mo. He joined the U.S. Army in 1949. He would go on to serve until retiring as Command Sergeant Major in 1969. Bill married Delores Ethington on June 21, 1952. After 20 years of living at various duty stations, they retired to Midwest City. Upon completion of technology school, Bill worked for Folding Carrier, Midwest City Hospital, and finally NCR Corp, from which he retired in 1992. Bill loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and served as a deacon, Bible teacher, and retirement home minister through his local church. He is survived by his loving wife, Delores; devoted children Rick and JoAnn Austin of OKC, Mike and Dana Austin of OKC, Debbie and Paul Strolle of OKC, & Chris and Tammy Austin of Cache, OK. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and preceded in death by one grandson.
Visitation will be on Friday, Nov. 26 from 4-8 pm (with family present from 6-8) at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home Del City, OK. Funeral service will be held Sat. Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. at Southwest Baptist Church, OKC. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
