After graduating from Springfield Regional High School, she was employed as a secretary at the Guaranty Trust Co. in New York City. She always loved music played the piano and organ, sang in church choirs and the New York City women's choral group with concerts in Carnegie Hall.
Margaret married Edward J. Dieter on July 17, 1948. When her husband was transferred to Palo Alto, California she became a volunteer at the Stanford Hospital and other charitable organizations. IN 1960 her husband was transferred to Chicago, Illinois, where she continued her volunteering work at the hospital in Naperville. She became an avid golfer, joined two ladies golfing organizations and became president of one.
In 1978 her husband retired and they moved to Gulf Harbors, New Port Richey, Florida where Margaret became active in the Civic Association at Social Chairman. In 1987, they relocated to Spring Hill and became active in the River Country Garden Club and the Home Owners Association including the Crime Watch. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the W.M.C.C. Bowling League at Spring Hill Lanes. She was a Catholic, a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church and with a move in 2015 to North Carolina has been a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Arden NC.
Survivors include nephews; Thomas Schak, James Schak, Raymond Schak, Georges Schak, and Dewey Rex, nieces; Margaret Lemaire, Patricia Ross, and Kathryn Eagan, grand nieces. grand nephews, great grand nieces, and great grand nephews.
A Funeral Service will held on January 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Barnabas Catholic Church with burial in Naperville, Illinois at a later date.
