Jim was a quiet and gentle soul with a quick wit, a reserved sense of humor, a contagious laugh, and a generous heart. A humble man, he was many things to many people, having a heartfelt impact on the lives of others…often without realizing it.
Of all that Jim accomplished throughout this life, he was most proud to have been a husband, a father, a grandfather, a loyal friend, and a soldier. He spent his professional life as an accountant, earning his degree from The University of Steubenville. Throughout his career, he spent time serving as President of a family business as well as operating his own accounting practice. A decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam War, Jim served with the 1st Air Cavalry Division and was the recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Jim is survived by Mary Anne (nee Kenney), his wife of 51 years; son James (Kelly); daughters Megan and Elizabeth (Amir); grandchildren, Olivia, Colin, and Liam; sister, Rita Thompson; brother, Rich (Debbie); along with countless in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Esther (nee Reisterer); brothers John and Tom; sister Margaret Snyder; father-in-law, Richard and mother-in-law, Anne Kenney (nee Ferron); brothers-in-law, Larry Thompson and Archie Gleason; niece, Cheryl Thompson; and many brothers-in-arms.
