He was born May 10, 1948 in Yakima to Clarin and Helen (Schmidt) Armstrong. Marlin graduated from West Valley H.S. in 1966 and had worked for Wheeler Logging, Yakima Manufacturing, ABR Roofing and most recently with Haney Trucking. He also liked to farm and raise cattle with his grandson, Justin. Marlin was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed taking his pack horses into the mountains. Marlin generally just truly loved the outdoors and being with his grandkids.
Survivors include his son, Brett (Darcy) Armstrong of Yakima; daughter, Ann Armstrong-Summers of Sunnyside; brothers, Eugene Armstrong of Yakima and Kenny Armstrong of Arkansas; sisters, Karen White and Janice Perkins, both of Yakima; granddaughters, Megan and Bailey and a grandson, Justin, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
