Robert (Bob) Arthur Murray Sr., 66, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, with the love of his life and family at his side at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus. He was born August 26th , 1943 in Grand Rapids and was the son of the late John & Ida (Van Court) Murray. Bob proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He retired from General Motors in 1999 with 33 years of service. He enjoyed deer and goose hunting, along with fishing. He was an avid Basketball fan and enjoyed watching the Pistons. He loved bowling and riding his motorcycle. He was an exceptionally loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Sharon (Sherry) Murray (Misiewicz); seven children, Lyn (Gary) White, Barb (Ray) Van Dyke, Deb (Ted) Sanchez, Mike Kramer, Candy (Dan) Anes, Rob (Jenny) Murray, and Brian (Amy) Murray; 24 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren; a sister Edith (Bob) Kamp; several nieces and nephews; a very special and dear friend Paul (Goose man) Dawson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held Saturday, May 22nd at Grace Fellowship Church, 735 Buth Drive, N.E. at 11:00 am. with Pastor John Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Fairplains Cemetery, with Military Honors being conducted by the Kent County Honor Guard. Visitation will be Friday, May 21st at Reyers North Valley Chapel,2815 Fuller Ave., N.E. and Three Mile Road from 7-9 pm and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Grace Fellowship Church with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
