Jay served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958 and received the National Defence Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He worked at Lockheed as a flight line mechanic and retired after 30 years of service. He was an avid and accomplished bowler and was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Survivors: His son, Darrell and his wife, Molly, and their daughter, Grace Adams; daughter, Brenda Adams Anderson and her children, Kelsie and Corey of Burleson; nephews, Dwight and his wife, Jean Driver, and their son, James, of Fort Scott, Kan., and Billy and his wife, Pam Driver, of Wichita, Kan.; nieces, Saundra Henderson and her children, Sunday, Rachael and Lucas of Fort Worth, Vonda Cahill of Quincy, Mass., Jere McKlaney of Palm Bay, Fla., and Dewie Robertson of Coral Gables, Fla.
