Clebert Carter Alford died on October 23, 2010 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 90. Clebert was born on April 20, 1920 in Portales, New Mexico to George and Ruth (Carter) Alford. He was raised in Joseph, Oregon.
Clebert married Margaret Jennie Potter in January of 1949. Their marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1970. Margaret passed away in 1975.
Clebert was a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service where he retired from. Clebert belonged to the Radio Relay League, Mt. Hood Chapter. He was a master gardener.
Survivors include his five daughters, Janice Louise Musgrove, Eugene, OR., Ruth Darlene Lazarides, McMinnville, OR., Sherry Helen Stam, McMinnville, OR., Roberta Joann Barnes, Ontario, OR., and Susan K. Stutts, Port Orchard, WA., 23 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Clebert was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Jennie Potter Alford, and two sons, Myrel Henry Wines II, and Sidney Charles Wines and granddaughter Heather Bishop.
Funeral service will be on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Portland Stake Center located at 9901 SE Caruthers St. in Portland, Oregon. Following the funeral service will be a concluding graveside service at 12:30 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
