Marvin Barnes, 81, born December 28, 1929, in Penrose, CO, to the union of Eugene and Velma Barnes, passed away December 29, 2010, in Pueblo, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Myrna; in-laws, Sam and Rose Martellaro; and his grandmother, Etta YounG, who raised him. Marvin is survived by his wife, Vita of 60 ½ years; daughter, Yvonne (Mike) Spinuzzi; son, Eugene (Tina) Barnes; six grandchildren, Michael Spinuzzi of Lewisville, TX, Leanne (Matthew) Brighi of Greeley, CO, David (Ashley) Barnes, Chris (Katy) Barnes, Tiffany and Bethann Barnes, all of Arlington, TX; seven great-grandchildren, Giana Brighi, Madilyn and Connor Spinuzzi, Keeley Barnes, Ethan, Tyler and Abbie Rhodes; brother-in-law, Joe (Linda) Martellaro; his last surviving aunt, Geneva Duncan; and his loyal caretaker, Minda Baca. Marvin retired after twenty-three years as a letter carrier. He was a Past President of Eagles #145, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a Catholic convert, and helped build Christ the King Church as a founding member. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Guy Kemling, Dr. Donald Luebke, their staffs, and the ER and medical staff of Parkview Medical Center. Viewing will be 4-6 p.m., Monday, at T.G.
