AGE: 70 TOMS RIVER
Daniel J. Pituch, 70, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Dan, better known as "Danny" or "Dan the Man" was born in Virginia, but lived most of his life in Manville. He graduated from Manville High School and began working for Public Service Electric and Gas Company in New Brunswick as an inspector. Over 35 years with the company, he was a dedicated worker who retired at age 62. He moved to the Toms River area 24 years ago.
He is survived by his loving wife Lynda, whose marriage of 23 years was filled with love and devotion. His three daughters, Beth Pituch of Lambertville, Allyson Evans of Washington, NJ, and Kristen Cichon of Shark River Hills; and his stepson Brian Lenihan of Lake Grove, N.Y. will miss the love and support from their father. His four granddaughters, Shannon, Emily, Sarah and Alexa will miss their "Pop Pop" who adored his sense of humor, and a sister, Pat Hood of The Villages in Florida.
Dan was a member of the Moose Club and The Gilford Park Yacht Club. He enjoyed crabbing and fishing especially on the dock in Island Heights. He was a true humanitarianthe food bank was never empty when he was around. He was the first one to offer help to anyone who needed it. Dan was greatly adored by everyone and touched the lives of others. He will never be forgotten.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A memorial service will be given at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 9 at the funeral home. The family would like to request that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to the American Cancer Society .
