1928 – 2011
Mary passed away peacefully at Yucalta Lodge in Campbell River on January 10, 2011. She was born in Grand Forks BC on July 30, 1928, and lived there until she married her beloved husband Albert Balbon in 1954. The couple soon moved to Campbell River, where they lived happily for the rest of their lives. Albert predeceased Mary in 1997.
Mary will be remembered for her magical green thumb, for her cooking and baking (especially the Russian treats she recreated from her childhood) and, most importantly, for her love for her family. She will live on in so many happy memories.
Mary is survived by her sister Ann, sons Albert and Bill, daughters-in-law Pauline and Diane, grandchildren Angie, Michelle, Kristina, Shawna, Sean, Zachary, Chase and Annika, and great-granddaughters Caitlin, Makenna, Jade, and Emma.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Mary’s life on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at the United Mennonite Church, 2277 Enns Road, Black Creek, at 2 p.m.
Arrangements under the direction of Piercy's-Mt. Washington Funeral Home, Courtenay, BC.
