NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Sandy Barrilleaux, the former Velva Suire, age 83, at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Fr. Mark Derise will be the celebrant for the service. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Saturday until service time.
A native of Delcambre and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Barrilleaux passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 10:10 am at Iberia Medical Center.
Mrs. Barrilleaux is survived by her children, Corny Barrilleaux and wife Estelle; Dalton Barrilleaux and wife Jennifer; Percy Barrilleaux and wife Patsy; Sandra B. Theriot and husband David and Carol B. Greer and husband Len all of New Iberia; ten grandchildren, Tricia LeBlanc and husband Lonnie; Paul Sandy Barrilleaux and wife Jewel; Devlin Barrilleaux and wife Gemma; Troy Barrilleaux and wife Kiomi; Heather Dore; Erica Dore; Christine B. Derouen and husband Chet; Sarah B. Colson and husband Paul, Jr.; Scott Mendoza; Caleb Barrilleaux; Seth Barrilleaux; Michael Theriot and wife Keely; Danny Viator and wife Simion and Olivia Greer and thirteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Presley Suire of New Iberia; one sister, Ella Mae Trahan and husband Ralph of New Iberia and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sandy Barrilleaux; Parents, Alexis and Edna Bourque Suire; granddaughter, Jennifer Theriot; grandson Garland Barrilleaux; daughter in law, Sylvia D. Barrilleaux; two brothers, Percy Suire and Wilmer Suire and one sister, Rose Mae Delcambre.
Pallbearers will be Paul Sandy Barrilleaux, Devlyn Barrilleaux, Troy Barrilleaux, Michael Theriot, Danny Viator and Ty Shaw.
Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb and Seth Barrilleaux.
