A Rosary will be recited by Nene Espinoza on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Alpine, Texas, Rev. Msgr. David Fierro of St. Matthew Parish in El Paso, Texas, officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Angels Cemetery.
She came to Alvin, Texas, in the 1970s. She retired from Alvin Independent School District after 25 years of service. In retirement, she enjoyed visiting the Senior Center, bringing joy and laughter to her many friends. She was a member of her bowling team and competed in several State Championship Bowling Tournaments.
Mrs. Ogas was a parishioner of St. John Catholic Church, Alvin, Texas, for the past 33 years.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Daniel Fierro Ogas; her son, Daniel Valadez Ogas; her daughter, Ana Cecilia Reyes and husband, Michael R. Reyes; her grandchildren, Amanda Danielle Ogas, Erick Dylan Ogas, Dominic Michael Cavazos and Michael Sean Reyes; and great-grandson, Arturo Daniel Vega; also by her brothers, Tomas Valadez Jr. of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Federico Valadez of Westchester, Virginia; her sisters, Leonor Valadez of El Paso, Texas, Ofelia Valadez of Alpine, Texas, and Concepción “Concha” Rodriguez of Ft. Stockton, Texas.
Mrs. Ogas was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas C. Valadez and Juanita Gallegos Valadez; her brothers, Roberto “Beto” Valadez Sr., Manuel “Lito” Valadez, Luis “Wicho” Valadez, Father Joe Valadez; sisters, Maria Fierro Jojola and Sister Maria Asuncion.
