William C. Adkins passed away February 20, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, CO, he was 73.
William was born on November 22, 1937 in Reno, NV from the union of Frank Vance and Mary Katherine (Smart) Adkins. He spent his childhood in the Reno and Las Vegas area and spent numerous years in Nevada later moving to Anchorage, Alaska for ten years and Colorado for twenty-seven years. He worked in the gambling industry in Las Vegas, and an air conditioning & refrigeration in Alaska before moving to Colorado where he was a Pentecostal Minister for twenty-seven years. He served his country in the Air Force National Guard and was a member of the Alaska Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #367.
On February 14, 1981 he married Toni J.S. Adkins in Anchorage, she survives.
William was a mighty warrior, an ambassador and soul winner for God. His main goal in life was to preach the cross of Christ and bring as many to that cross to meet Jesus in a personal manor, sharing the promise of everlasting life in Heaven. John 3:16
William leaves behind his wife Toni J.S. Adkins of Clifton, CO, a son; Todd (Toni) Sanderson of Anchorage, AK, three daughters; Kathi (Paul) Adkins Brown of Anchorage, AK, Tadi-Ann(Jose) Espino of Clifton, CO and a foster-daughter; Michelle Sutton of Culbertson, MT, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents and a brother; Frank Adkins.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Lighthouse Christian Center, 3506 N.12th Street, Grand Junction, CO
