Betty Doom Bigham, age 77, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at NMMC in Tupelo. She was a member of Ecru Baptist Church and retired from the First National Bank in New Albany, where she was a Vice-President and a loan officer. She was a past president of the National Association of Bank Women of Northeast MS Chapter. She also worked at the Cotton Gin and at the Ecru City Hall.
Services will be at 3:00 PM Friday, April 1, 2011 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Littlefield and Rev. James R. Miller officiating; burial will follow in the Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Guy Waymon Bigham of Ecru; her son: Larry W. Bigham (Janice) of Ecru; one sister: Lillian Motchman, Memphis, TN; one brother: Harry Doom of New Albany,MS; two grandchildren: Larry S. Bigham (Crystal) and Stephanie Austin (Brent) and two great grandchildren: Landon and Chase.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph Roy Doom and Earline Hamilton Doom; her sister: Mary Jo Richardson and a brother: Roy Arnold Doom.
Pallbearers will be: Randy Cobb, Colt Doom, Brandon Lowery, Bill Riker, Brent Austin and Gary Floyd. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Whitehead, Jimmy Farris, Bush Hamilton, Dr. Lester Willis and Lewis McGee.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 PM Friday at the funeral home.
