He suddenly passed away at his home on March 31, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lee Dillard, Genevieve M. Miller, and a brother David Lee Dillard.
He is survived by Linda Nolan Dillard, wife of 39 years of Tallahassee, FL., and two sons: Kirk Dillard of Charleston, SC and Matt Dillard of Tallahassee.; Grand-Daughter, Destiny Faith Dillard of Edmonds, OK; Brother, Ronan (Carrie) Dillard of Knoxville, MD; Sister, Ladonna (Matt) Badipour of Houston, TX; Brother, Jeffery Dillard of Huntington, WV; Sister-in-law, Jane (Russell) Walters of Charleston, SC; nephew Drew (Melany) Warfuel of Charleston, SC; niece Joan (Brian) Brewer of Charleston, SC; niece Allison Bonham of Houston, TX; nephew John Bonham of Virginia Beach, VA; Uncle Chris (Rosalinda) Messer of San Antonio, TX; Uncle Ralph Smith of Johnson City, TN; several nieces and nephews, and cousins; and many close friends.
Bill graduated from Huntington High School in 1969, where he received several awards, including letters in Football and Baseball. He received an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Del Mar College of Corpus Christi, TX in 1977. Bill loved life and lived it to its fullest. He volunteered in the community and had a special impact on the children he coached. His positive approach to life was contagious and he will be missed by all, including his many adopted children. Bill and his wife Linda surrounded themselves with animals and loved the great outdoors. His many hobbies included fishing, scuba diving, he was a craftsman that could make or fix anything, he loved working with plants and pets! He was a poet and philosopher, and a legend in his own mind. He was a true patriot and a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ. Truly, he was an amazing man, a dedicated husband, a loving father, and the best of a friend.
A Memorial Service will be held at Cully’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, FL, 32308 on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 4:30 pm. The family will receive friends at their home following the service for a continued celebration of Bill’s life.
Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Florida.
