Jerry D. Adams, 72, of Wichita Falls died Monday, April 25, 2011 at a local nursing home. Services have been scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Stephen Adams. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
Jerry was born July 5, 1938 in Wichita Falls to Otho Nathaniel and Tina Lee (Sims) Adams. He won the Golden Gloves state title when he was in high school. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after 35 years of service where he earned an award for 21 years of perfect attendance. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 635 as well as the Shiners’ Maskat Temple.
Mr. Adams is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Robert Adams.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Tonya Adams of Gainesville, TX, David Adams of Dallas, TX, Richard and Karen Adams of Wichita Falls; brothers and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Sandy Adams, Jimmy Adams all of Wichita Falls; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
