John Brent Albrecht, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away at age 86 years; on May 31, 2011 at Bethany Village. He is preceded in death by his two sisters, Jean McIntosh and Joyce Clements. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan Hopkins Albrecht, his children; Debbie L. Albrecht and Jeff Steinberg, Dan and Denise Albrecht, and Joseph and Christine Albrecht, his brother and wife Dr. Joseph M. and Peggy Albrecht and grandchildren Rachael Elaine Albrecht and John Brent Albrecht, II. He was a graduate of local Roosevelt High School in Dayton, Ohio and Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. He proudly served his country as a veteran of two foreign wars (World War II and the Korean War) as a pharmacist’s mate (corpsman), in the United States Navy. John spent a lifetime working as pharmaceutical sales representative for William S Merrill and CIBA-Geigy. He was a member of Belmont United Methodist Church, the Lions Club and the Pharmaceutical Association. Memorial services will be held June 18 at 11 AM, at Belmont United Methodist Church, 2701 S. Smithville Rd.. Dayton, Ohio. Family greeting will be between 10 and 11 AM or following the service.
John was loved by all and known for his friendly smile, love for helping others and his favorite motto: ”keep schmiling ! ”. He will be greatly missed but is at peace with his celestial family.
