Dorothy Branch, 90, of New Bloomfield passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011 at St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City. She was born August 2, 1920 in Tuscumbia, Mo., the daughter of J.W. and Sophronie (Jeffries) Murray.
She was united in marriage to Evert Branch on July 1, 1970 in Arkansas. He survives.
Dorothy was previously married to Ed Vaughan, the father of their three children.
Dorothy never met a stranger and was well liked by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She found great pleasure in hunting, fishing, and any outdoor activities. She had a passion for birds and enjoyed watching and feeding them. She worked at Cheseborough Ponds for 20 years and at Home Health Care for 14 years. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Jefferson City.
Along with her husband, Dorothy is survived by two sons, Donald Eddie Vaughan and wife Lovea of Titusville, Fl., and Paul Vaughan and wife Carol of Lake of the Ozarks; one daughter, Helen Dilcom and husband Leonard of Farmington, Mo.; six grandchildren, Don Vaughan and wife Sharon, Susan Fickey and husband Chris, Mark Dilcom, Michele Vaughan, Kimberly Loving and husband Brook, and Joe Vaughan and wife Jincy; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4776 Old Lohman Road in Jefferson City with Pastor Neil Dye officiating. Interment will be held at Summit Memorial Park at a later date.
