Frances Daly Anderson, age 93, of Charlotte, NC, died July 14, 2011 at Sharon Towers, where she had resided for 11 years.
She was a native of Memphis, TN, where she graduated from Central High School and attended Memphis Business School before moving to Charlotte in 1938.
Mrs. Anderson was a charter member of the Junior Women’s Club of Charlotte, and for many years was an active member of Mouzon United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the A.T. Ellis Sunday School Class and served on the administrative board. In recent years, she enjoyed attending Myers Park Presbyterian Church. Before retirement, she was secretary to the late Dr. L.E. Fleming.
While living at Sharon Towers, she enjoyed her friendships and involvement in the programs and many activities, including performing with “The Line Dancers”, playing bridge, and using her knitting skill for volunteer projects.
She was preceded in death by her father, A. Charles Daly; mother, Kathryn M. Harvey; and husband, William W. Anderson.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her daughter, Nancy A. Carpenter and husband Rann of Salter Path, NC; son, Paul A. Anderson, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Kingsport, TN; stepdaughter, Dusty A. McGinty and husband Bill of Charlotte; grandchildren, Mary Randolph Carpenter of Washington, DC, Ragan Carpenter of Los Angeles, CA, Alacia Billow and husband Paul of Raleigh, NC, and Roger Anderson and wife Laura of Franklin, TN; step granddaughter, Gretchen McGinty of Charlotte; and great-grandchildren, Peyton and Tyler Billow, and Martin, Walker, and Bailey Anderson.
According to her wishes, a service celebrating her life and interment of ashes will be held at a later date at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Kingsport, TN.
