Anna Aguilar, age 84, of West New York, NJ, Hampton Bays, NY and long-time resident of River Vale, NJ passed away on July 30th, 2011. She was born on December 26, 1926 to Michael and Veronica Bester in Branchville, Pennsylvania.
Anna is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Frank Aguilar; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Marianne Aguilar of Suffern, NY; a daughter and son-in-law, Carlene and George Spiegel of Rye, NY: grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Whitney, and Michael; and five great-grandchildren, Michael, Taylor, John, Dylan, and Brooke.
Anna was a graduate of Hunter College where she double majored in Spanish and Education. She was New York City elementary school teacher for thirty years. She enjoyed traveling and visited many parts of the world from the Great Wall of China to the Land of the Midnight Sun. Anna loved to cook for family and friends and had an innate ability to make everyone feel like family. Suenas con los angeles si no de mi`.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 3rd at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 96 E. Allendale Rd., Saddle River, NJ. Private Cremation to follow.
