Age 65 passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 20, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Mary (Morrow) Blake. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda (Schreiner) Blake; son, Russ (Stephanie) Blake; daughter, Jennifer Blake; beloved grandson, Elias Robert Blake; brother, Ed (Carlene) Blake; special brothers-in-law, Eric and Carl Schreiner; and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert graduated from Belmont High School in 1963 then went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1966 as a Machinery Repairman (MR) on the U.S.S. Piedmont AD-17. He was a very respected member of the tool and die industry, in Dayton, for 45 years. During this time he was plant manager for 30 years with Adena Tool, before opening his own shop, Triumph Tool. He was also a profound innovator and inventor. Robert had a passion for riding and collecting motorcycles; especially vintage Triumphs. He was a decorated boat racer, and also enjoyed riding dirt bikes. He was a Freemason, as well as a longtime member of the American Legion Post 0586, the American Power Boat Assoc., and the American Motorcyclist Assoc. (Charter Life Member). Robert earned his 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo (Member of the Kukkiwan) and enjoyed teaching Taekwondo. A Gathering of Friends will be held from 4-6:30 pm on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, 508 E. Linden Ave., Miamisburg, Ohio 45342 with a memorial service beginning at 6:30 pm,officiant Chief Burks, United States Navy.
