Susan Joan Beardsley, 63, of Sikeston, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011, near Matthews, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born June 21, 1948, in St. Louis County, MO, to the late Albert and Mary Presley Bowen, she was a homemaker and member of the Anchor Baptist Church in Vanduser. On August 4, 1967, in Valley Park, she was married to Johnny Beardsley, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Johnny, Jr. and Lisa Beardsley of Ellington and David Beardsley of Sikeston; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Rev. Rodney Dunlap of Charleston, Theresa and Darrin Hensley of Matthews, and Melissa and Paul Pratt of Matthews; one brother, Harold Bowen of Bismark; and two sisters, Mig Mason of St. Charles and Janet Joiner of Ellington. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Alyssa Beardsley, Darrin Hensley, Jr., Sara Beardsley, Devin Pratt, Ashlynn Pratt, Ezekiel “Zee” Dunlap, Jonathan Pratt, Rachel Dunlap and Elijah “Eli” Dunlap; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
Visitation is scheduled to begin at 10:30am Monday, August 29, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services will follow at 2:00pm, with Pastor Trevor Spencer of the Anchor Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
