Fenerty, Marion Dorothy (Mame) - 93 of Halifax; passed away peacefully on September 3, 2011 in the Palliative Care Unit, VG Site- QE11. Born in Halifax. She was a daughter of the late Edward & Eunice ( Boutilier ) McSweeney. Marion dearly loved her family and was deeply loved in return. Family & Friends were always welcome in her home for a visit and of course a cup of tea and a sweet. Marion was a survivor of the Halifax Explosion at the age of three weeks. Marion is survived by her daughter Joan (Paul Ritcey), daughter-in law Doris Fenerty, grandchildren Michael and Wayne Ritcey, Heather Turner, Terry and Shawn Fenerty, Christina Hubley, eight great grandchildren, sister Margaret Dunsworth, sisters in law Sade Redden and Audrey McSweeney, several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robie, son Jack (Jake), sisters Ellen (Della) Gray, Edith Pace, Lillian Walsh and brothers Arthur, Albert, Joseph and Edward McSweeney. Visitation will be held at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax on Wednesday, Sept. 7th, 4:00 – 8:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish (formerly St. Stephen’s); Halifax, at 10:00am on Thursday, Sept. 8th. Father Gerald David officiating. Family flowers only. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations to the Palliative Care Unit -Floor 7A of the VG Site, or Red Cross Home Care Services (Halifax), would be greatly appreciated.
