Paul B. Adamson, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama born February 13, 1937 passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on September 10, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father Paul B. Adamson, Sr.
Paul was a graduate of Shades Valley High School and continued onto Auburn University where he finished with a degree in Industrial Management. Paul was an avid lover of Auburn University. While attending he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, Blue Key, Circulation Manager of The Plainsman, and served as one of Auburn’s most prestigious honors of being tapped a Spade in 1958. After college, Paul served as an Intelligence Officer in the US Navy and was stationed in Panama. It was there that he met his wife of 48 years, Barbara. Paul was President of Alabama Industrial Fabricators, Inc. and retired from the steel industry in 1996.
Paul is survived by his mother Ruth Adamson, wife Barbara, son Paul B. “Buddy” (Dawn) Adamson III, daughters Kim Spivey (Jeff), Alice Adamson Barrett, Barbara “BJ” Fontaine (Mike), and his 10 grandchildren Chase, Malia, Luke, Brandon, Blakney, Brittany, Marty, Jessica, Joseph and Michael who will miss their beloved B’daddy. The family will receive friends from 5-7 on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
