Frank M. Egas, age 64, beloved father of Erin Egas, RN (fiancée Marty Kuznicki), cherished brother of Peter (Sandy) and Joe (Brenda) Egas; fond uncle of Benjamin, Adam (Annemarie), David, Eric & John Egas; dear cousin of many.
Frank immigrated from Ecuador to the United States when he was 9 years old. He earned his naturalization by volunteering to serve in the US Army in the Vietnam War. Frank achieved Secret Clearance, which is the highest military clearance a non-citizen can earn, and one step below Top Secret.
During the war Frank served in Vietnam and Cambodia. When he returned from overseas, Frank was debriefed by the pentagon. Frank’s dedication to his country was evidenced by the secrets he kept, even from those he loved, taking them to his grave, as he honored the oaths he made.
Frank's life will be celebrated at a Memorial Visitation Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 9am until time of Memorial Service at 12pm at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave., Lisle, IL (on Rt. 53, ½ mile south of Ogden Ave. / Rt. 34).
