East Lansing
Age 83, passed away at the Burcham Hills Retirement Community on October 21, 2011. Preceded in death by her son William, she is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Alexander Tulinsky; her sons Thomas, Alexander, and John; a granddaughter Grace; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Born May 31, 1928 in Royal Oak, Michigan, during her childhood she also lived in California and New Jersey. She attended Douglass College in New Brunswick, New Jersey, graduating in 1950 with a B.A. in psychology and a minor in music. Music was her first love; her instrument was voice, and she was a soprano. After college she worked for G. Schirmer, the New York sheet music publisher, and for Educational Testing Service in Princeton. In 1955 she married and ten years later the family moved to the Lansing area when her husband accepted a position at Michigan State University. She attended River Terrace Church in East Lansing and participated in many church activities there. Throughout her life she enjoyed music and gardening. Marjorie will be remembered by her family and many friends as much for her lively, engaging conversation as for her warmth and kindness, and will be greatly missed by all.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m.Thursday, October 27, at River Terrace Church, 1509 River Terrace Dr., East Lansing. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River, East Lansing.
