Nancy “Louise” Poe Hanes, 79, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011, at her residence after a lengthy illness. Services will be held on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with Pastor Greg Creed officiating.
Louise was born in Guilford County on May 3, 1932, the daughter of George H. and Claudia E. Carter Poe. Louise was a member of Concord Friends Meeting. During her life she worked in the food Industry. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and “Granny” will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons; Larry Hanes and wife Janie, Chip Hanes and wife Sheila, all of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Wayne Hanes, Brad Hanes, Jennifer Hanes, and Katie Silver; great grandchildren, Layla Hanes, Abbie Hanes, Kaylie Neese, Payden Silver, and Cheyenne Silver; brother, George Henry Poe and wife Barbara of Ramseur, NC; sisters, Marie Beverly and husband John of Michigan, Ann Tucker and husband Donald and Sarah Craven, all of Greensboro.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the care and compassion during this time by Leslie, Angelia and Rashonda, all with Hospice of the Piedmont. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262-7009.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
