Rachel Marie Agresta, of Danbury, formerly of Astoria, Queens, NY, died on November 10, 2011, at the age of 84. She was born on November 29,1926, in Long Island City, Queens, NY, to Joseph S. Agresta and Carmela Mazziotta. Rachel was retired after working her entire career at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York City.
Rachel is survived by seven nieces and nephews, Joseph, Aurelie, Thomas, Paul, William, Marguerite and Emily; eleven grand-nieces and nephews, Michael, Matthew, Yoshiko, Jimmy, Paul, Anthony, Kathleen, Joseph, Capri, Cooper and Carsen; and her sister-in law Aurelie Agresta. Her extended family includes Mary Clare & Fred, Frank & his children, Sue, Tony, Elizabeth, Elaine, Lisa, and Jeff. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Agresta.
Rachel was beloved by all and will always be remembered for the special things she did for her family and the joy she brought to their lives. Rachel was an active life-long parishioner at the Roman Catholic Church of the Most Precious Blood in Astoria, Queens, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Ridgefield, on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Queens, NY. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
