Funeral service for Martha Lois “Boots” Tomlin, age 79, of Oxford, will be 1:00 pm, Friday at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Rev. Ted St. John officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11-1:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Tomlin died Tuesday at RMC.
Survivors include daughter, Debbie Tomlin; son, Gene Tomlin, both of Oxford; sister, Ann Carlisle of Auburndale, FL; niece and nephews, Tera Heath of Pell City, Mike Gardner of Pell City, Wayne Carlisle of Cropwell, Belinda Thorgmorton of Orlando, FL, Marie Comer of Lakeland, FL, Peggy Massey of Birmingham; brother-in-law, Joe Gardner of Pell City; and special little dog, Holly.
Mrs. Tomlin is preceded in death by Clarence W. “Buddy” Tomlin, her high school sweetheart and husband of 60 years; her father, Emeris “Jellybean” Clements and mother, Gladys Clements; sisters, Betty Gardner, Betty Crosson; and brother–in-law, Bobby Carlisle.
Mrs. Tomlin retired in October 2011 from Weight Watchers after 39 years. She was born and raised in Pell City and moved to Oxford in 1950.
