Anna was born on July 7, 1927 in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Phillip and Wiera (Zedick) Pasko. She married Donald M. Cooper on May 23, 1954 in St. James Episcopal Church in Oneonta.
Anna was a graduate of Oneonta High School, Class of 1944, which still gets together for lunch. She was also a graduate of the Mildred Elley School of Business in Albany. She worked for the D&H Railroad in Oneonta as a stenographer for about 10 years, a part time shoe clerk at the Triangle Shoe Store in Oneonta and was a secretary for Oneonta Tire and Auto.
Anna was a lifetime member of St. James Episcopal Church in Oneonta and was a member of their Altar Guild for over 25 years. She belonged to 2 different bowling leagues and was on the Oneonta Traveling Bowling Team. She was a volunteer on the Board of Elections.
She was an avid Duke basketball and N.Y. Yankees fan.
Anna was proud of “The Lower Deck” and lived in the same house for all of her life.
Anna is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald M. Cooper of Oneonta; her son, Phillip Cooper and his wife, Tina of Oneonta; her granddaughter, Emily Cooper.
She is also survived by her nieces, Mary Powell, RoseAnne Pirone and her husband, William “Bud” and their children, and Elizabeth Powell; her nephews, Christopher Powell, Frederick Powell and his wife, Susan and their children, Ana and Heather and her niece, Linda Bradley and her husband, Ed.
Anna was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Mary Powell and her sister-in-law, Pauline Hoag.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, December 23, 2011 at the St. James Episcopal Church in Oneonta with Fr. Kenneth E. Hunter, pastor, officiating. June Sheehan will be the organist and Mary Anne Ross will be the vocalist for the Mass. Interment will be at 1 pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 10 to 11 am at the church prior to the service.
