Mary Louise Birkelbach, 96, formerly of Granger died Saturday, January 7, 2012 in Georgetown, Texas. She was born August 30, 1915 in Taylor, Texas, daughter of Millard and Florence Arrington of Thrall.
After graduating from Thrall High School, Louise attended Mary Hardin Baylor College and received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Southwest Texas State Teachers College. A retired teacher of more than 20 years, she and her husband enjoyed traveling across the United States and to many foreign countries.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 52 years, K.E. Birkelbach; sister, Hazel Hatfield and brother, Dr. James Arrington.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Goodrich and husband Jerry, Kay Boatman and husband Jim; grandson, Mark Goodrich and wife Barbara; great-grandsons, Connor and Aidan Goodrich; brother; Robert Arrington and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins as well as many friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in honor of Louise to the First Baptist Church of Granger where she was a member or your charity of choice.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor.
Graveside services to be held Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 11:00 at Taylor City Cemetery with Louise’s cousin, Dr. Joe W. Bailey, Jr. officiating.
